Fees:
Childcare is available for infants (that can sit on their own without support) through school age children at $3.00 per child with a $6.00 maximum per family. We prefer receiving checks (made payable to Ginger Creek Community Church) but we accept cash. Payment is to be made one month at a time. However, if you would like, you may pay for more than one month at a time. The reason we ask for paying a minimum of one month at a time is: The childcare workers have committed to coming every Wednesday we meet. Because of this we have agreed to pay them a certain dollar amount whether there is ten or twenty children in the rooms. Also for this reason, we will not refund childcare payments or give credits if your child(ren) is absent from childcare. Preschools, swim lessons, etc. also do not offer refunds if your child(ren) is absent. We realize there will be times when you need to bring one of your children that may not usually come or you may be watching a child(ren) for a friend. In those situations, you will only be asked to pay for that child on the day they come. If you know in advance that you will be bringing your child only once in a while, then we will set you up to pay on a weekly basis (just let us know in advance). Also, children ten and older are free. If children ten and older would like to help they may be considered a junior helper if the help is needed. This child would then be paid $10 per week. If the childcare fees would prevent you from participating, there are scholarships available. Please talk with one of us or your small group leader.
Check-In:
Childcare check-in starts at 9:15. We encourage you to arrive no later than 9:15. This will allow plenty of time to check your child(ren) in and get them settled in their child care room. Arriving no later than 9:15 will also allow our group to start on time at 9:30. When you arrive please fill out a name tag for your child and write your cell phone number on your child’s name tag (this is how the child care workers will contact if you needed). If you do not have a cell phone, then we will give you one of the leader’s cell phone numbers to write on the tag. A volunteer will be available to assist you with checking in your child from 9:15-9:30. Out of respect for the volunteers, check-in will close at 9:30. If you arrive after 9:30, please complete the check process on your own. Needed supplies and information will still be available at the check-in table. If you arrive after 9:30, please personally give your check or cash to Jan Perry. This will ensure that your payment is accurately credited to you.
Feeding, Diapering, Potty Breaks, Crying Child:
We strive to provide a safe, healthy environment for all children. Unfortunately, it is not possible for our child care workers to keep your child on his/her daily schedule. If your infant normally receives a bottle during the time that we meet, please keep your child with you until they are done being fed. In addition, please make sure your infant has a fresh diaper on before putting them into childcare. Diapers are not routinely changed, therefore your infant may have a wet diaper when you pick him/her up. Diapers with a disturbing smell will be changed. For children not wearing diapers, please take your child to the bathroom before putting them in childcare. If they do have to use the bathroom during group, a worker will take them to the bathroom. To help with the overall atmosphere of the child care room, if your child has been crying for more than 15 minutes, the childcare workers will call on your cell phone.
Snacks:
Children will be given a snack. If your child(ren) has any allergies, please let us know when you check your child in. The children are provided with water. However, if you bring a sippy cup for your child, please make sure your child’s name is on the cup. If you bring a pacifier for your child, it needs to be attached to your child or kept in the child’s diaper bag. In an effort to minimize the passing of germs, please wash your children’s hands with antibacterial sanitizer (located outside of each child care room) prior to entering the room. If your child is not feeling well and you are not sure if you should bring your child to group, please refer to the “Good Health Guidelines” which is found in your folder.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding childcare, please contact one of us or your small group leaders. If you find yourself wanting to make a comment to a friend about the child care, please make that comment to one of us. We want you to feel comfortable leaving your child(ren) with our childcare workers.
